Entries for the 2020 RAID Blog Competition now open

Researchers in Agriculture for International Development (RAID) are looking for entries for their 2020 blog competition that address the topic “This is what ag R4D is for me.”

Each year, Australian scientists work together with farmers, entrepreneurs, governments, NGOs, researchers, and universities in developing countries to find solutions for agricultural challenges, working towards more sustainable and secure food and nutrition.

This is international agricultural research for development (R4D). 

If you are passionate about agricultural R4D, have international R4D occurring in your sector, working or have worked in the international agricultural R4D space, or are learning about the role and applications of international agricultural R4D, you are invited to submit a piece and share your voice on the topic.

Entry requirements:

  • Length: 750– 1,000 words (give or take a little)
  • Photos: Minimum 2 photos/graphics with captions


  • First prize: $1000 towards academic or professional development
  • Second prize: $200 towards academic or professional development
  • Third prize: $100 towards academic or professional development
  • RAID Committee’s pick: 3 X $50 RAID Vouchers, redeemable in the RAID store, or for RAID events
