AgATTRACT

AgATTRACT

The Australian Government’s AgATTRACT measures aim to shift perceptions of agriculture work and showcase the diverse career opportunities on offer through a range of programs (DAFF).

AgCAREERSTART

AgCAREERSTART encourages people aged 18-25 to kick-start their farming future with a gap year placement in Australia’s food and fibre industry.

Over 10-12 months, participants live in an exciting regional location, earn a nationally recognised qualification and build life-long industry connections.

Community Perceptions and Worker Experience Project

The Community Perceptions and Worker Experiences Research Project aims to better understand and respond to community perceptions and worker experiences within Australia’s food and fibre industries. The one-year project was extended to capture career advisor services and the role of school-based educators in promoting agricultural careers.

The project will inform actions to improve the sector’s ability to attract and retain workers.

National Careers Institute Career Mapping Project

With funding from the Australian Government, the National Careers Institute (NCI) created a new agriculture industry landing page on www.yourcareer.gov.au which includes new content, more education and training requirements and more labour market insight information.

In addition, the NCI created several videos and career case studies for the Your Career website.

AgUP

The AgUP grant program supports industry organisations to undertake projects to attract, retain, upskill, train and mentor the agricultural workforce. Projects receiving the grant run from 2021-22 to 2024-25.
