This video from the peak sugarcane growers’ organisation CANEGROWERS, highlights some of the hundreds of career opportunities in Australia’s sugar industry!
This YouTube video features a young Cairns region farmer; a CANEGROWERS district manager; and a researcher – who each discuss their jobs, their pathways into their current roles, and what excites them about being part of an industry that exports $2 billion worth of raw sugar every year.

To celebrate National Careers Week, Primary Industries Education Foundation Australia, in collaboration with CANEGROWERS recorded three short videos profiling people working in the sugarcane industry. Throughout the videos, experts have shared their stories about the innovations in technology and management practices employed along the sugarcane supply chain and provide practical advice for people interested in pursuing a role in the sector.
