The School of Agricultural, Environment and Veterinary Science has established a First Nations Agriculture Initiative that seeks to provide opportunities for Indigenous undergraduate students and postgraduate students interested in agriculture including animal science. Part of this Initiative is to provide an undergraduate scholarship program for Indigenous students to encourage them to consider a career in agriculture. Currently, there are many good employment opportunities in agriculture as well as a need for education and training for Indigenous managed lands. This scholarship provides students with an $8000 (FT equivalent) top-up of their Abstudy entitlement.
