Irrigationist

Irrigationists are responsible for monitoring the crops water and nutritional needs, making sure each plant is not under or overwatered and is getting all the required nutrients.

Without water, nothing grows – that’s why irrigationists are vital to the success of horticultural production.

Irrigationists will help to layout, monitor, and maintain irrigation systems such as drip, surface, and sprinkler systems.

It is critical irrigtionists continue to explore ways to grow the crop more efficiently and improve the technologies and techniques.

Core Tasks:

  • Determine hydraulic parameters for an irrigation system.
  • Implement an irrigation-related program.
  • Schedule irrigations and interpret and apply irrigation designs.
  • Select and manage pumping systems for irrigation.
  • Supervise irrigation system installations and irrigation maintenance.
