Norah Seddon is a Partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Sydney office. She has over 20 years of experience in providing Australian and international taxation advice to individuals and corporations. She went to school at Westmead, grew up in the Hills district and commenced work with Coopers & Lybrand at Parramatta so has a clear understanding of Sydney’s western suburbs. While studying for a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting at Western Sydney University she won the CPA Award for First Year Accounting.
In 2016, she was introduced to the Western Sydney University scholarship program by another partner at PwC. Her response was immediate and supportive: ‘As a Western Sydney University alumna and the first in my family to go to university, I’d like to support a scholarship’.
Norah has chosen to include her parents in the naming and criteria for the scholarship. Her parents inspired her family of four girls to believe that women can succeed in mathematics and science and her sister, a maths teacher, has shared with her the urgent need for more maths teachers.
The JG & C Seddon Scholarship for Women is available to women studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects, and/or education at Western Sydney University.
