The George Alexander Foundation was established by Mr George Alexander AM in 1972 to provide grants for public charitable purposes in Australia.
The George Alexander Foundation has an emphasis on helping talented young people, especially those from regional and rural areas to undertake and excel in higher education. The Scholarship Program forms the core of the Foundation’s work.
Application Criteria
- Applicants must be commencing study in 2020 as a first (1st) year undergraduate student. No previous study at UOW or any other institution;
- Applicants must remain enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Wollongong for the duration of this scholarship;
- Applicants must come from a rural or regional background;
- Applicants must receive an ATAR or equivalent of 80+;
- Applicants are required to demonstrate community involvement via submission of a written statement;
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident.
