Lainy McFarland was a loving person, daughter, sister and friend. She passionately cared for and rescued animals and lived a life dedicated to animal well-being. Lainy was a distinguished third year Veterinary Science student at Charles Sturt University. Lainy was a two-time Dean’s Award recipient for Academic Excellence and still managed to work and devote time to community service. Lainy’s life ended on the 25th of May 2016 at the age of 22. Lainy is deeply loved and missed by her family, friends, fellow students and co-worker’s and by members of the community. Everything Lainy did, she did with love. Lainy’s mother, Laura McFarland, established the Lainy McFarland Memorial Scholarship as a way of spreading this love to another veterinary or animal science student.
