Established in 2019 by a gift from the James Murphy Bursaries Trust, this Scholarship supports undergraduate students undertaking studies in agriculture, including sustainable agriculture and food security. The Scholarship is awarded on the basis of financial need and academic merit. The James Murphy Bursaries Trust was established by William James Murphy in 1922
Applicants must be commencing or continuing students in one of the following programs in the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney:
- Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Agriculture),
- Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Food and Agribusiness),
- Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, or
- Bachelor of Food and Agribusiness.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need.
Applicants must identify, or must have parents who identify, as Catholic.
