Plan, undertake, supervise and coordinate development of new plant varieties.

Tasks

  • Develop and manage a breeding program and associated activities required to achieve agreed program objectives
  • Develop and maintain links between the company and technology support providers to achieve agreed program objectives
  • Maintain and forecast budgets for breeding activities
  • Interact technically with marketers and end-users of the company’s products
  • Interact technically with relevant authorities and institutions
  • Develop a breeding team succession plan
  • Supervise and manage a breeding team
  • Develop and maintain key industry links
