Assist planning and support for development and maintenance of forestry plantations.
Tasks
- Assist in development and operational management of plantations by undertaking forestry operations
- Assist in planting, site preparation, site establishment, noxious weeds, vermin, fencing, pest and disease identification, tree nutrition and land evaluation activities
- Monitor plantations and ensure management of inventory
- Assist in implementation of cutting programs to assure continuous production of timber and to assist timber production goals
- Implement methods of cutting and removing timber with minimum waste and environmental damage and suggest methods of processing wood for various uses
- Assist in implementing projects for control of floods and soil erosion
- Comply with all safety and environment policies and procedures by identifying and reporting incidents to assist in rectifying and improving safety procedures
- General duties as required
