The food and grocery product industry is Australia’s largest manufacturing sector and makes a substantial contribution to the economic and social welfare of all Australians.  The Australian Food and Grocery Council, as the leading national organisation representing Australia‚ packaged food, drink, and grocery products manufacturers, is offering five scholarship opportunities to encourage outstanding second year students in a food related program to pursue a career in Food Science, Engineering and Technology.  The scholarship provides educational support, professional development and industry exposure opportunities.

There are five scholarships available valued at $6000 for the duration of one year (payable in two allocations of $3000 in each semester).

Applications open December each year.

Qualifications

  • An Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident
  • Enrolled as a full-time second year student in Food Science, Food Engineering and/ or Food Technology courses in their second year of a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering program at the University of Queensland in 2014
  • Have completed their first year of an undergraduate Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree
