Vocational Education Teacher

Teach and instruct students in vocational courses connected with specific industries and areas of work to help people enter or re-enter the workforce. VET lecturers teach subjects in which they have specialist knowledge, skills and experience such as agriculture, horticulture, food technology etc.


  • Making administrative and budget decisions
  • Chaperoning classes and trips
  • Prioritizing teaching methods
  • Completing student counseling
  • Enforcing rules and disciplinary action
  • Lecturing and discussing concepts
  • Preparing material for presentations
  • Grading tests and conducting progress reports
  • Recordkeeping student activities in accordance with laws and policies


For this Position, the skills required could have been developed through on the job training, previous work experience in other related roles and through specialised and/or vocation training and/or through a Tertiary Qualification in Science, Humanities or Commerce.  A degree in Education or Certificate IV in Training & Assessement
