Agricultural Pilot

Fly small planes for crop dusting and planting and other agricultural operations.


  • Apply chemicals to fields in a safe manner
  • Spread seed and fertiliser to fields
  • Prepare flight plans based on weather forecasts and operational information
  • Ensure aircraft are properly loaded for safe and efficient flights
  • Check fuel requirements and fuel quantities prior to flight
  • Check on maintenance status of aircraft prior to flight
  • Conduct checks of flight controls, instruments and aircraft engines before flights
  • Fly aircraft according to operating and safety procedures under a range of flight conditions

For this position, the skills required could have been developed through on the job training, previous work experience in other related roles or through vocational training.
