John Ralph Essay Competition winning entry now available online
The winning essay of the 2018 John Ralph Essay Competition titled ‘The right to farm versus the right to choose: society is having the final say’ is now available online. The winning essay written by Deanna Lush has recently been published in the Farm Policy Journal and can be read here.
The essay argues that the agricultural sector must be built on trust and transparency. Farmers may believe they have a right to farm, but equally the market has a right not to buy their products. It’s a very interesting essay on the role that contact with consumers has in the food system, and what this means for the industry.
